Nancy Jane ROTT 1941 - 1996 SHS 1959

SHERIDAN - Memorial services for Nancy J. Rott, 55, will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Memorial Chapel with Fr. David Duprey officiating. Interment will follow in the Sheridan Elks Cemetery.

She died in Billings, Mont, on June 8, 1996.

She was born June 2, 1941, in Hastings, Neb., the daughter of Carl A. and Dorothe W. Price Rott. She had lived in Sheridan for about 48 years, where she worked in advertising and news with The Sheridan Press and KSGW television.

She received her bachelor of science degree in journalism from the University of Wyoming and later attended Sheridan College and Casper College. She was also trained in social services and worked at Renew and the Wyoming Independent Resource Council. She had previously won numerous advertising and newspaper awards from Metro Newspaper Services and the Rocky Mountain Advertising Managers Association.

She enjoyed horsemanship and had raised and shown Morgan horses. She also enjoyed the theater, playing the piano, pottery and ceramics.

She was preceded in death by her father on Jan. 6, 1969.

She is survived by her mother, Dorothe W. Rott of Sheridan.

Memorials may be made to the Sheridan County Children's Library to be used to buy books or the WYO Theater in care of Delphine Toner at the First Interstate Bank in Sheridan 82801.
