OBITUARIES - THE SHERIDAN PRESS - May 6, 2002

Sheridan native Carole Wilhelm, 61, of Wheatland died Friday, May 3, 2002, at her home after a battle with cancer.

Vigil will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in Wheatland.
Funeral liturgy will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Father Jan Santich as celebrant.  Interment will be in Wheatland Cemetery. Platte Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Wilhelm was born Feb. 16, 1941, in Sheridan to Daniel A. and Elma Maxine (Davis) Mooney. She grew up in Sheridan and attended cosmetology school here after graduating from high school in 1959.

She moved to Wheatland in 1961.

She married Jake Edward Wilhelm Feb. 16, 1963.

She owned and operated the Crystal Door Style Salon 37 years, until she retired in 1998.

She was a member of Council of Catholic Women and the Cowboy Joe Club, and enjoyed attending University of Wyoming football and basketball games.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Heidi Lynn of Denver; a son, Michael Patrick of Wheatland; her mother of Sheridan; three sisters, Michele McDonald of Casper, Patricia Shearin of Laramie and Helen Hendrickson of Sheridan; three brothers, David Mooney of Chicago, John Mooney of Topeka, Kan., and Daniel Mooney of Carson City, Nev.; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Platte County, P.O. Box 1025, Wheatland, WY 82201; Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, 1009 Ninth St., Wheatland; or to Holy Name School in Sheridan.
