A memorial gathering for Margaret Wark, 57, of Penn Valley, Nev. Was Sunday, Dec 5, 1998 in Nevada City.

Ms Wark died Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Sierra Nevada Mewmorial Hospital.

She was born April 20, 1941, in Cody, Wy to Clyde and Janet May. She was a 1959 graduate of Sheridan High School and attended Sheridan College for one year. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the Universidy of Nevada at Reno, and an associate degree in accounting from Sacramento State University.

She worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of California and belonged to the Nevada County Poetry Guild.

She enjoyed poetry, religious studies and reading.

Ssrvivors include her mother, Janet May, of Buffalo, Wyo, a daughter, Elizabeth Johnson of Nevada City, a son Barry Johnson of Penn Valley,a brother, Willard May of Chandler, Ariz, and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband,Bruce Johnson, in 1964.

The Neptune Society of Grass Valley handled cremation arrangements.
