OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNNE - April 12 2006

SHERIDAN -- A memorial service for Deborah Anne Hosford Garber, 64, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. The Rev. David Duprey will officiate. Interment will follow in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

She died April 8, 2006.

Born Sept. 5, 1941, in Watertown, S.D., she was the oldest of five children of Lorraine M. Roach and Richard S. Hosford. She grew up helping her father on the Diamond Cross Ranch in Birney, Mont. She enjoyed riding her favorite horse, Maverick, and hunting rabbits with her dear friend Ann McKinney. She attended school in Birney, Kent Country Day School in Denver and Big Horn School, graduating from Sheridan High School in 1959. She attended New Haven College in Jackson, Miss., and the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Known for a quick wit and sharp mind, she was an avid reader and loved doing crossword puzzles and playing bridge. She was also an avid sports fan and a fixture at Big Horn sporting events during the time her children were participants. She loved to create beautiful things and had recently planned landscaping her yard. She loved spending time with her family during holidays and other special traditions, and was an excellent cook.

Survivors include her children, Christina Murphy, Bruce Garber, Susie Ponce and Rich Garber, and their spouses; three sisters, Kathy Hosford, Carol Vandeventer and her husband and Pam David and her husband; one brother, Dick Hosford and his wife; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
