Funeral services for Edward N. Green, 66, of Sheridan will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Kevin Jones officiating.

Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion and Wyoming National Guard under direction of Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Sheridan Elks Lodge 520 will host a celebration of life reception following the services.

Viewing will be 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Green died Sept. 2, 2007, in Billings Clinic Hospital.

He was born Oct. 4, 1940, in Sheridan to Harry and Louise (Johnston) Green.

He graduated from high school in Sheridan and enlisted in the Air Force. He was stationed in Korea and returned to Sheridan after his service.

He married Vikki Jones on June 20, 1964, in Sheridan.

He worked as a barber for several years before joining the Sheridan Fire Department. He rose to the rank of captain before retiring in 1995 after 26 years of service. He then drove a school bus for several years.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Sheridan County Sportsmen’s Association, Wyoming Muzzleloading Association, Sheridan Bull Shooter’s Club, National Rifle Association, National Muzzleloading Association, the YMCA, and International Association of Firefighters Local 276.

An avid NASCAR fan, he also enjoyed playing cribbage, cooking, riding his Harley, horseback riding, hunting and other outdoor activities, and being with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis.

Survivors include his wife; a son, John, and daughter, Lora Smith, both of Sheridan; three brothers, Gary, Snook and Bob, all of Sheridan; and four grandchildren.
