David Peter Filbert passed from this earth to his heavenly home on Monday, February 27, 2012. David died at the VA Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

On September 18, 1964, David married the love of his life - his best friend, Janet Artist. David was the first organizer for the EMT classes held in Buffalo in the early 1970s.

David and Janet volunteered their summers between 1981 and 1989 to be Forest Service Campground Hosts at the south Fork Campground above Buffalo.

Since 2002 Dave and Janet have tremendously enjoyed spending summers at the Elk Horn trailer Park in the Big Horn Mountains where they could fish and get close to nature at their "little piece of heaven on earth". Artifact hunting was a hobby Dave thoroughly enjoyed, while walking through the meadows and admiring the beauty of his surroundings.

He is known as "speedy" to his Wal-Mart friends because of his daily fast walks around the store in the fall and winter months. He had a contagious laugh and many friends.
