Charles “Charlie” E. Catron, 67, of Sheridan, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

A memorial service is 5 p.m. Friday at Kane Funeral Home, followed at 6 p.m. by a celebration of life for friends and family at Sheridan Elks Club. Per his request, attire should be casual.

Born July 3, 1941, to Sheldon and Margaret Catron, he was a lifelong resident of Sheridan, graduating from Sheridan High School in 1959.

After high school, he attended the University of Wyoming before following his father into the painting business. He became a full partner in C&B Paint Co. in 1969.

After retirement in 2006, he helped his friend Mike Flynn prepare the new Science Museum at Sheridan College.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob.

Survivors include his wife, Jan; a brother, Tom (“Moose”); two sons, Joey and Weegie; a stepdaughter, Kris; three stepsons Kevin, Bill and Scott; three nieces; a nephew; and five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may benefit the Dog and Cat Shelter or the Science Museum at Sheridan College.
