SHERIDAN - Graveside committal services for Sheridan resident Richard Marshall "Dick" Smith, 61, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in Sheridan Elks Cemetery.

He died April 2, 2002, at his home.

He was born Sept. 21, 1940, in Sheridan, the son of Charles W. and Juanita E. (Wallace) Smith; was raised and educated in Sheridan; and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1958.

Throughout his life, he worked at a variety of jobs in Sheridan, including equipment operator, construction laborer, hod carrier, painter and mechanic.  Most recently, he had been employed by Kuchera Memorials.

He was known as a hard worker and good friend.

Survivors include his sister, Donna Finley, and her husband of Kingman, Ariz.; and a brother, David, and his wife of Phoenix.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
