OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - April 4, 2003

BUFFALO - Funeral services for Buffalo resident Gary Wayne Gossett, 64, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5, in Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo by the Rev. Dick Edgerton. Anchor Lodge No. 7, A.F. & A.M., will present a Masonic service. A private family interment will follow.

He died April 1, 2003, at his home, after a long illness.

Born Nov. 10, 1938, in Sheridan, he was the son of Harold and Lorna Gossett; was raised and educated there; and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1958.

He then joined the U.S. National Guard and served for eight years as a company cook.
On Sept. 7, 1958, he married Joan Harrison in Sheridan.

They made their home there and he worked in construction; for Coca-Cola for several years; and for Pepsi-Cola.  The family moved to Buffalo in 1971 and he managed the Bison Theater until it closed in 1984.

After returning to Sheridan, he managed the Centennial Theaters for a year, then moved back to Buffalo, where the couple went into partnership with Top Choice Meat Plant.  In 1985, he began working for Jenks Trucking and drove trucks for two years before going to work for Lamb Construction.

He worked for Malapi Mining for a short time, then was employed by the Crossroads Inn.  In 1993, he started with Buffalo Lumber, where he continued until ill health forced him to retire in 2001.

A member of the Episcopal Church, he was a member and past master of Anchor Lodge No. 7, A.F. & A.M.; past master of York Rite; and member of Kalif Temple and Scottish Rite.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years of Buffalo; two daughters and their husbands, Gayle Gill of Buffalo and Janice Sanders of Carpenter; two brothers, Virgil Gossett and his wife of Sacramento, Calif., and Tom Gossett of Laramie; two sisters and their husbands, Nora Horton of Superior, Mont., and Nita Pixley of Sacramento; a brother-in-law; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Wayne; and a sister, Arlene Lopes.
