It is with great sadness that the family of Emilie "Emi" Wright announces her passing after a courageous battle with lung disease. Her husband of 53 years, Bill, and her children, Mark (Patty), Gina (Tim), Grant and Vicki (Mark) will forever feel the pain of their loss and the joy of her life. She touched the lives of all around her every day, including her 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Emi was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Bates and Maude Briggs, her brothers, Slim, Nilo, Ike, Ernie, Jim and John and her sisters, Margaret, Mattie and Alma.

Her brother Gene and sisters Patricia and Lois join with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in celebrating her life and the precious gifts of love and laughter she showered on all.

Emi was as creative in her professional life as she was in her personal life! When she lived in Sundance she sold Avon and delivered it from a Kawasaki motorcycle. During her 42 years in Story she drove the school bus, ran the mail route and drove the Trolley in Sheridan. Her bus kids will always remember the homemade ornaments and cookies. She cooked one summer at the Presbyterian Church camp and volunteered as an EMT on the Story ambulance. She loved working with children. She worked as an aide at the Story School, was a substitute teacher and participated in an after-school mentoring program. Emi's greatest past time grew into a business that spanned many years and two shops; crafting! Her first shop was Emi's Gifts. She took a break for a few years and opened another shop, Dancing Deer Gifts. She beaded, knitted, crocheted, sewed and so much more. Her talent was as great as her heart.

Emi found happiness in the outdoors. Gardening, camping, walking miles through the woods with Bill in the mountains and family gatherings in the mountains were among her greatest joys. There was always plenty of food, games and laughter at family get togethers and all were welcome, family or not. Everyone in Story will remember home-made donuts for Halloween at the Wright House! Another great joy for Emi was the many trips around the country she and Bill took through the years. She absorbed knowledge of other places and their histories. Emi's greatest love though was her family. She loved her family with all she had and backed them up, no matter what. She will be loved and missed for the extraordinary strong woman she was.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Kane's Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Goodwin officiating. A Reception will follow in the Kane Reception Hall.
