CASPER - Memorial services for Donald Keith "Don" Williams, 62, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Bustard's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Brian Lombardi of the Church of Christ officiating.  Military rites will be accorded by United Veterans Council of Natrona County.  Interment will be in Buffalo City Cemetery at a later date.

He died April 10, 2001, at Wyoming Medical Center.  He was born Feb. 12, 1939, in Sheridan, the son of Gregory Donald and Louise Mildred (Maxted) Williams.

In 1957, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he obtained his high school diploma.  He served active duty until 1961 in the states and abroad as an air traffic controller.  In 1961, he remained in the Navy as a reservist and air traffic controller in California, Arizona and Casper.

On Feb. 14, 1965, he married Nancy Karen Lynde in Gillette and they managed many motels in the Gillette area.  They also managed restaurants, such as the American Legion in Buffalo.

Following the death of his beloved wife in 1978, he worked various jobs until 1980, when he moved with his daughter to Midwest and managed the Junction Café.  He continued to work and live in the Midwest and Casper areas until the time of his death.

He was a terrific bowler and bowled in numerous leagues in his younger years.  He often won at bingo, his favorite game, and was an avid fisherman.  The greatest love of his life was his family and being with his cherished grandchildren. Watching them in all their sports.

Survivors include his daughter, Judy McGowen, her husband and three grandchildren, all of Midwest; two sisters, Erva Day of Sheridan and Roberta ValJean Lucas of Buffalo; an aunt, two cousins and other family members, all of Sheridan; and his extended family at Wyoming Kidney Center of Casper.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandfather, John Lynde; an infant son, Gregory John; and a grandson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Donald Williams Memorial Fund, in care of Bustard's Funeral Home.
