Services for William Severance, 67, of Sheridan, will be later in April. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Mr. Severance died March 22, 2007, in Westview Health Care Center.

He was born May 25, 1939, in Wisconsin to Milton and Ethel (Niles) Severance.

He moved to Sheridan, where he grew up and graduated from high school.

Mr. Severance enlisted in the Army and then the Air Force, serving in Vietnam. After the service he returned to Sheridan, where he married Anita Parrish on May 23, 1970.

He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad until he retired in 2000. He played golf, read, watched movies, traveled and was a member of the United Transportation Union.

Survivors include one son, Michael, of Sheridan; one daughter, Annette Long, of Buffalo; one brother, Robert Severance, of Arizona; one sister, Barbara Roadifer, of California; and two grandchildren.
