Barbara Ann MADSEN Burton 1938 - 2012 SHS 1956

Barbara Ann Burton died Saturday, March 24, 2012 in her home in Phoenix, AZ.

She was born on July 23, 1938 in Sheridan Wyoming to Dr. Pete and Alice Madsen.

After graduating high school, she married Steve Rogers and together, they raised six children. She was later remarried and lived in Alaska, Wyoming, and Texas before moving to Phoenix, where she lived the last 15 years.

Barbara worked as a secretary/bookkeeper but is mostly known, and will be remembered for, her love of children.

Barbara is survived by her six children, Dr. Steve (Dr. Carla) Rogers and their children, Madeline and Christine of Fall Creek, WI, Matt (Celeste) Rogers and two children that they raised, Ricky and Keisha Thunder of Ethete, WY, Scott (Sonia) Rogers of Bozeman, MT, Torrey Rogers of Phoenix, AZ, Tara Rogers of Sheridan, WY, Margaret (Ken) Stiles and their children, Andrew and Max of Billings, MT; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Torrey Moody of Sheridan, WY; niece, Mandy Phillips and her three children, Blaine, Torrey and Madsen of Sheridan, WY, and her nephew Pete Moody of Denver, Co.

She was a very loving and loyal mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Barbara appreciated, and her children would like to thank: son and brother, Torrey Rogers for taking excellent care of her the past several years, the Moody family who did so many nice things and were always there for her, and Hospice of the Valley who did a superb job of keeping her in her home and comfortable the last five months of her life.

Her family will privately celebrate her life later this summer in Story, WY.
