Willard R. GILLETTE 1938 - 2017 SHS 1956

Willard R. Gillette, 78, passed away January 2, 2017 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He was born Willard Raymond Gillette, Jr., in Thermopolis, WY on September 30, 1938 to Willard Raymond Gillette, Sr. and Naomi (Livingston) Gillette. The family moved to Sheridan where Willard attended Sheridan schools, graduating from Sheridan High School in 1956.

He attended Sheridan College and later graduated from the University of Wyoming with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He worked nearly 30 years for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. After retirement, he started a consulting business and traveled all over the county working with different Native American Tribes to rebuild schools, government buildings and infrastructure.

He was an avid sports fan and traveled to many University of Wyoming football and basketball games to cheer on his beloved Cowboys.

His interest in metaphysics led him to learn about different views on spirituality.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Armstrong, and his parents.

He is survived by his sister, Riva (Jim) Trott of Sheridan, WY; his daughter Michelle (Coleman) Dieger and his son, Gavin Gillette, both of New Mexico as well as several nieces and nephews.
