Pocahontas - Sharleen Rae Creech, 70, passed away January 14, 2009 at St. Benards Medical Center.

She was born May 28, 1938 in Gillette, WY. To the late Raymond and Irma Christy .

She is survived by ber husband Col. Jim Creech of the home,son Jimmie Creech of Gulf Breeze, FL and daughter, Christy Creech of Raleigh, NC. Grandson, Andy Creech of Gulf Breeze, FL and granddaughter, Haley Creech also of Gulf Breeze, FL. Twin sister, Sharon Pitts of Pocahontas, Twin brothers, Gary and Gale Christy of Denver, CO.

She graduated from Northern Colorado University located in Greeley, CO. With a Bachelor’s in education. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Pocahontas where she was a former choir director. She was a board member for Imperial Dinner Theater; Past president and current member of PEO; Sigma Kappa Sorority. Sharleen enjoyed several bridge clubs. She loved all music, especially playing the piano and singing.

Memorials may be made to The Humane Society of Randolph County or the Randolph County Public Library.

Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow to Creech Farms Family Cemetery with Fred Hunter officiating.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 5-7 in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home.
