Richard K. Kiester died July 3, 2010 in McKinney, TX.

Richard was born September 12, 1936 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Thomas and Melissa (Owsley) Kiester. Dick graduated from Sheridan High School in 1955 and enlisted in the US Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1959.

He married Darlene Forster June 24, 1960 in Sheridan. They later divorced but remained close.

He was a baker at the VA Hospital from 1960 to 1975, when he suffered a stroke.

He was a former member of Holy Name Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

He was a Scout Leader, Little League coach and enjoyed all sports his children participated in.

Richard enjoyed their family trips to North Dakota visiting Darlene’s family every summer. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and teaching them card games, many of which they still play today. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, trips to the mountains, all sports and loved animals, especially the family basset hound “Chico”.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jim and Dean, half brother Don Apperson and son-in-law Kenny Allred.

Richard is survived by his former wife Darlene of Sheridan, daughters Dawn Allred of Gunnison, UT., Deena (Tom) Huth of Princeton, TX., Debby Husske (Jared Gamble) of Sheridan and son Darin (Jill) Kiester of Casper. Sisters Doris (Robert) Watt, Judy (Dwaine) Bobbitt, and brother David (Linda) Kiester all of Sheridan. Grandchildren Shaunna (Travis) Vincent, Kayla Huth, Todd Huth, Christi (Dan) McGrath, Michael Husske, Mitchell and Jacob Kiester. Great Grandchilden Malli McGrath, Bridger and Kanyon Vincent.

Cremation and a Memorial Mass at Holy Name Catholic Church has taken place.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Richard’s name to the Dog & Cat Shelter, 84 E Ridge Road.

Arrangements were made by the family.
