Stanley Wright Greenhalgh 1937 - 2013 SHS 1955

Stanley Greenhalgh, 75, of Lake Oswego, OR, passed away on March 28, 2013 at Avamere Rehab of King City, Oregon.

Stanley retired to Lake Oswego, OR after a long career with Safeco Insurance. He enjoyed tending to his garden, jazz and classical music, and reading an occasional best seller with Dan Brown's THE DA VINCI CODE among those enjoyed.

He enjoyed watching Masterpiece Theater and was particularly enthralled with Downton Abbey as it recreated the life and times that his father experienced growing up in England. Stanley was also aware of the links between the Wallop family of Big Horn, WY and Highclere Castle in Hampshire, the setting of Downton Abbey used in the filming of the series.

Stanley had fond memories of attending the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in April of 1952 during a visit to England with his mother and father.

One of Stanley's last joys was teaching English to Lake Oswego immigrant families who were newly arrived in the United States.

Stanley was preceded in death by his mother and father. His ashes will rest along side those of his parents in the Elk's plot of the Sheridan Cemetery.
