William ‘Bill’ Arthur FREESE 1936 - 2010 SHS 1955
;

William Arthur (Bill) Freese went to be with his heavenly father on Sunday, November 28, 2010.

He was born in Buffalo, Wyoming on May 2, 1936 to William Merrill and Myrle Irene Gillaspey Freese. Bill graduated from Sheridan High School in 1955 and enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany and service in the 11th Ariborne Division, 127th Airborne Engineer Battalion, and 10th Special Forces.

Upon returning to the U.S. Bill became interested in construction and joined the Iron Worker's Union in 1962. He worked in the field, was Business Agent and Financial Secretary-Treasurer, and started his own company in 1982. He was an on-the-job iron worker until the day he died-probably one of the oldest in the country.

Bill married Glenda Gardenhire in May 1982, and they spent 28 wonderful years together. The best part of their union was their two children, Whitney and Eli, who were the light of Bill's life.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one sister (Pat), and two brothers (Bob and Gordon).

He is survived by his wife Glenda, his children, Whitney and Eli, sisters Shirely, Gene (Don), Beverly (Marshall), and Irene, in-laws Bud, Gary and Angie, and Jay and Angela Gardenhire, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill never met a stranger. He love people, he loved life, and he approached each day with enthusiasm, energy, and a joke in his back pocket.

Bill was known for his stories - he had a story for every situation.

He enjoyed skiing, hunting, fishing, but most of all, anything to do with his family - especially baseball. Farmington baseball won't be the same without his wholehearted cheering.

Cremation will take place and memorial services will be held Friday, December 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 211 W. 20th St. in Farmington with Pastor Jeff Moody officiating.

Those who wish to send condolences to the family may do so at:www.danielsfuneral.com.

Bill's services are entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute, Farmington, NM 87401 (505) 325-8688.
