CASPER -- Funeral services for Marita Shugart, 70, will take place Friday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. at Highland Park Community Church.

She died Aug. 4, 2007, in Nashville, Tenn.

Born July 6, 1937, in Aberdeen, Wash., to Merle and Anna Iva Dennis, she was raised in Oregon until moving to Sheridan as a child. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1955.

After moving to Casper, she met Don Shugart, and they were married March 24, 1956.

She worked as a secretary for more than 20 years for the Soil Conservation Service.

Survivors include two sons, Patrick Shugart of Rawlins and Brady Shugart and his wife of Nashville; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highland Park Church.
