Monna Springer Monk, 80, of Sheridan, passed away on Thursday, October 29th, 2015, at Sheridan Manor.

Monna was born on October 1, 1935, in Sheridan, WY, to Bill and Lena (Dowell) Springer.

After graduating from Sheridan High School in 1953, she moved to Washington D.C. to work for Capitol Airlines.

She married Crafton Monk, an Air Force NCO assigned to Presidential security for Eisenhower and Kennedy. From this union were born two children: Diane (Robert) Malkuch and Damon Monk. After living in D.C. for 12 years, the family moved to Alaska, California and then back to Sheridan. Crafton and Monna were later divorced.

Monna enjoyed arts and craft endeavors, particularly beading. She also enjoyed history and reading.

Monna was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Dick and Dan Springer.

She is survived by her children.

Per Monna's request, there will be no services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetary in Big Horn, WY.
