Dolores Dee Dunne , of 908 Leopard St., Sheridan, WY, died Thursday, March 20, 2008 in Sheridan Manor.

Dee was born December 15, 1934 in Beulah, WY to Walter Earling and Mae Butterfield) Mathews. She went to grade school in Spearfish, South Dakota. Her family moved to Sheridan in 1949 and she graduated from Sheridan High School in the class of ’53.’ Dee then went for one year of nurse’s training at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago.

Dee married Emmanuel “Chic” Dunne on her 21st birthday in 1955 in Sheridan and the couple moved to California for five years where she worked at Air Research in El Segundo.

“Chic” and Dee had two sons while living in California, Michael in 1957, and Mathew in 1959.

The Dunne’s moved back to Sheridan in 1962 where Dee worked as a dental assistant and later a Doctor’s Receptionist.

Their daughter Michelle arrived in 1970. Dee then became a full-time homemaker.

She worked with the boys in 4-H, raising a small band of champion Hamster sheep and many bum lambs.

Dee fought off cancer in 2005, but never fully recovered.

She is survived by her husband, “Chic” three children; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Dee was a member and past president of the DOES at the Elk’s Lodge, and a member of the PERL’S. Dee was also a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

She loved to crochet with yarn and made many beautiful afghans and baby blankets.

Dee especially loved spending time with her family. Dee was loved and will be sorely missed.

Visitation for Dee will be from 2:00 P. M. to 4:00 P. M. Sunday, March 23, 2008 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Services will be 1:00 P. M. Monday, March 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Philip Wold officiating. Interment will be in the Elk’s Section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
