Norma Jean BALDEN Burger 1935 - 2015 SHS 1953

Funeral services for Jean Burger, 79 year old Buffalo native who passed away early Thursday morning at the Johnson County Health Care Center in Buffalo will be held Tuesday, May 19th at 2:00 p.m., from the Harness Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor William Dunlap officiating. Visitation will be held from the funeral home chapel on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside services to follow the funeral. Norma Jean Burger was born on June 27, 1935 in Buffalo, Wyoming to Ernest and Vedda Young. After Ernest's death in 1937, Vedda remained on the Young family ranch until she married John "Pete" Balden. Pete adopted Jean and her sister Marjorie and they grew up and went to school in various towns in the west as her father was in construction. Jean graduated from Sheridan High School in 1953.

She was married in November of 1953 in Oelrichs, South Dakota to Roger Norman and they made their home in various places following construction until they settled in Buffalo in 1961. She worked as a baker in Buffalo both at the IGA and D.J.'s and was a cook for the Buffalo Grade School. Mr. Norman passed away in 1989 and Jean continued living in Buffalo.

She was married in 1998 to Warren Burger and they made their home in Buffalo. Warren passed away in 2003 and Jean continued living in Buffalo until her death.

She was a member and past Worthy Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed bowling, music, dancing, hiking in the mountains and doing crafts. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Jean is survived by one son, Randy Norman and his wife Kim of Buffalo; one daughter Debbie Norman and her husband Dave Osmundsen also of Buffalo; three granddaughters, Katherine Leach of Columbus, Ohio, and Megan and Melissa Norman both of Buffalo; four step-grandchildren, Leishaan Crane of Buffalo, Aaman Crane of London, England, Cheyenne Osmundsen of Arkansas and Dawson Osmundsen of Buffalo and one great-granddaughter Sydnie Norman and one step-great-granddaughter Harper Crane.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and one sister.
