Bill G. REED 1932 - 2013 SHS 1951

Bill G. Reed passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 21, 2013.

He was born in Lewistown, Montana to George and Edith (Schrader) Reed on August 15, 1932. He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1951 and attended North West Community College, now known as Sheridan College. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged.

He married Emma Jane Williams (Martin) and they had three children, Joyce Reed-Chapman (Mary), of Las Vegas, NV, William "Bill" Reed, and Sandra Lavin (Tom) both of Casper, WY. They were divorced in 1975.

He married Debra M. Denton in 1985 and they divorced in 1999.

He retired from an agency of the USDA after 20 years of service and had been in farming/ranching his entire life. His most recent endeavor was raising and showing Registered Lowline Black Angus cattle. He had taken many top prizes in the Wyoming State Fair, Denver Stock Show, NILE in Billings, MT, and the Eastern Idaho State Fair. He had also taken top prizes in the Wyoming State Fair for his hay production, which then lead him to compete in Madison, Wisconsin.

Bill was a man who lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed hunting in his beloved Big Horn mountains, fishing and camping/ATVing with his family. He also loved to tell "stories" to his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother, Howard Reed of Ontario, CA.

He is survived by two sisters, Bonnie Schreibeis (Gene) of Worland, WY and Donna Jacobs of Sheridan, WY, one brother, Walter Reed (Sandra) of Canton, TX, his three children, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private viewing for family will be held at Bustard's on Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 10:00 to noon prior to cremation. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 from noon until 3:00 p.m. at the Ramada Plaza Riverside, 300 W. F Street.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
