Alan (Al) WOLFE 1932 - 2024 SHS 1950

Alan Wolfe was born in Kleenburn, Wyoming, and grew up in Sheridan, Wyoming.

He died in Laramie, Wyoming.

Alan attended grade school and high school in Sheridan. He joined the Navy after high school graduation. He then attended The University of Wyoming on the GI Bill. He began his career in brand management for Proctor-Gamble. Later, he retired as President of the U.S. Division of DDB Needham Advertising Agency based in New York City, Chicago, and London.

Upon retirement, he moved to Sedona, Arizona. He spearheaded many community projects, and buildings for the community such as the library, medical center, cultural park and performing arts pavilion. He served as president of the major boards in the community.

As an alumnus of the University of Wyoming he served as President of the Foundation, chairman of the board which created and built The University of Wyoming Heritage Center and Art Museum. He received the Distinguished Alumni Award, and The President’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to the University. Although he worked and lived in other states, Wyoming was always "home" to Alan. He built a summer cabin in Centennial, Wyoming enjoying the peace away from his hectic career.

He was a loved and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be remembered for making a positive difference in every sphere of his life.
