Vera Virginia WILLIAMS Denny  1932 - 2001  SHS 1950
OBITUARIES - DESERET NEWS - March 13, 2001

Our darling Vera Virginia Williams Champlin Homan Denny, 68, returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father March 11, 2001, of complications relating to a lung transplant she valiantly fought for five years.  She brought grace and love to her roles as a daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother and friend.

On September 24, 1932, the sun was a little brighter in Sheridan, Wyoming when Vera arrived.  She was the youngest of four daughters born to Fletcher (Denver)
Williams and Florence Lueretta Hazzard.  She spent most of her days in the beautiful mountains and valleys of Wyoming which she loved.  A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Vera was an example of compassion and selfless service in every circumstance.  She was happiest on her knees in a garden of flowers or vegetables and adored her children, and grandchildren.  Vera had a gift with animals and was surrounded by an energetic bunch of beloved pets her entire life.  Until the end, she generously shared with all, her quiet strength, her wonderful laughter, and the beautiful sparkle in her eyes.

Vera will be forever in the hearts of those who remain: Her sweetheart Edgar M. Denny, Bountiful; Her children: John Champlin, Gillette, WY; Genie Waugh, Story, WY; Jerry Champlin, Casper, WY; Kimberly Champlin Smith, Salt Lake City; Her grandchildren; Kim Krog, Wayland Williams, Jason and Jarrod Champlin, Jennifer Champlin, Ryan Kite, and Morgan, Mikenna, and Ashley Smith. Also stepchildren: Kalyn Denny, Salt Lake City; Sandee (Clayton) Draper, South Jordan; Pamela (Kelly) Willey, Bountiful; Mark (Lisa) Denny, Layton; Janet (Jon) Howell, Riverton, Wyo; Vida (Dan) Clark, Towoac, CO; Dave (Amy) Denny, Layton; Laurel (Carl) Stouffer, Parkersburg, West VA; Rand Denny, Venice, CA; Valerie (Jon) Ostler, Ephraim; and 38 beloved step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Champlin; and former husbands, Jerry Champlin and Joe Homan.
