Sheridan native John Sundquist, 68, of Great Falls, Mont., died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at his home.

Cremation has taken place, and private family services will be at a later date. O'Connor Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Mr. Sundquist was born Dec. 25, 1932, in Sheridan. He grew up here and was a 1950 graduate of Sheridan High School.

He served in the Navy from 1951-56 in San Diego and later as a cryptographer on the admiral's staff at Pearl Harbor for three years.

He married Shirley Peterson June 12, 1952, in Sheridan. They moved to Great Falls in 1960.

He held an accounting degree from the University of Wyoming and was grain accountant for General Mills until he retired in 1993.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Patricia Obrecht of Great Falls; three sons, Gary and Terry, both of Great Falls, and Timothy of Eagle, Idaho; a sister, Anna Kelly of Sheridan; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
