Jessie Ann Thompson passed away after a warrior’s battle with cholangiocarcinoma on April 17, 2020 at her home in Eagle, ID surrounded by her children, Suzi and Jeff and her husband of 68+ years, James. If she had to go, that’s the way she would’ve wanted it, with the people that loved her most.

Jessie was the daughter of Frank and Alice Scovel, born on May 22nd, 1932 in Sheridan, Wyoming. She loved her husband, her children and her children’s children. She loved her extended family and her friends. She was a woman who lived life to the beat of her own drum and we loved her for that.

Married at 19, self-employed teaching dance lessons to four-year olds to 50-year olds, first child at 23, working mom, community involvement in each place she lived. She had more creativity in her little finger than most people have in their hand. Everywhere we look there is something that she created through sewing, x-stitch, knitting, or building.

She was an original Do it Yourselfer. She loved her Motor Home and she loved to travel. She loved Happy Hour and she loved Martini’s. She was a lover of cooking shows, recipes, shopping (especially if she was spending someone else’s money), bridge, but mostly she was a lover of her family.

She is survived by her husband James Thompson, her daughter Suzi Butzier (Dave) of Eagle, ID; her son Jeff Thompson (Chris) of Las Cruces, New Mexico; her favorite oldest grandson Christopher Butzier (Pip) of Boise, ID; her favorite middle grandson Logan Butzier of Salt Lake City; her favorite granddaughter Megan Thompson of Denver, Colorado and her favorite youngest grandson Nathan Thompson of Las Cruces, New Mexico.

The family would like to convey a special Thank You to the St. Al’s Cancer Care doctors and nurses for helping her fight the good fight and to the Palliative Care and Hospice staff for their unwavering kindness in our darkest hour. Lastly but certainly not the least, her neighbors for the concern, care and kindness shown both to she and her husband.

It goes without saying that she will be missed by her family and her friends. She will be missed by those whose life she touched. If you ever met her then you are a friend and we would be honored if you shared with us.

She would not want us to put anyone’s life in jeopardy by attending a gathering so we will be hosting a facebook page where people may post their fondest memory, pictures, life’s quips, of/by her. It will be a private group and you will have to request to become a member.
