Juanita A. “Nita” KIRKWOOD Rabe 1932 - 2007 SHS 1950

Juanita A. Rabe Juanita A. "Nita" (Kirkwood) Rabe, 75, of 512 27th Ave. N.E., died of natural causes Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at a local hospital.

Her memorial service is 2 p.m. Thursday at West Side United Methodist Church.

Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory is handling arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Rabe of Great Falls; daughters Bonni Dave) Walz of Farm-ington, Minn., and Dee (Jess) Tow,n of Olympia, Wash.; sons Cliff (Nancy) Rabe of Great Falls and Ric (Sandy) Rabe of Miles City; a sister, Betty Holzhey of Marsing, Idaho; brothers Charles Kirkwood of Red Bluff, Calif., and Wayne Kirkwood of Medford, Ore.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Nita was born June 16, 1932, to Lou and Helen Kirkwood on the family farm in Guthrie County, Iowa. Her younger years were spent in Iowa, and she attended a country school near Bear Grove and one year at Guthrie Center High School. She went on to graduate from Sheridan High School in Wyoming in 1950.

She married Thomas A. Rabe in 1951 in Sheridan. Nita worked side-by-side with her husband, Tom in the insurance industry and raised her family.

She was a member of TOPS from 1982 until 2007, with 25 years KOPS (keeping off pounds sensibly) designation. She was a member of West Side United Methodist Church. She loved reading, needlework, crocheting, camping and fishing, often out-fishing everyone else. She loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lou and Helen Kirkwood; and a son, Arthur Rabe.
