Joan Edna Christensen, 83, of Sheridan passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Sheridan Manor.

She was born on January 24, 1932 in Sheridan, WY to Lester Lemuel and Edna Lupton (Kimmel) Foss. Joan attended grade school at Taylor School in Sheridan and also, Kearny School in Johnson County. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1950.

She married Pete Christensen on October 6, 1953. Joan was gifted at playing piano by ear, enjoyed researching family history for geneology, actively planned class reunions, and also treasured crocheting, gardening and cooking.

Joan was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Edna and Karl Hepp; father, Lester Foss; and step-brothers, Earl and Zane Hepp.

She is survived by her son, Gordon (Lisa Day) Christensen, daughters, Pamela Christensen, Karen Stevens and Linda (Jerry) Hampshire all of the Sheridan area; brother, Duane Foss of Buffalo, WY; seven grandchildren, Sara (Tom) Jenz, Joel (Meredith Moseley) Pattinson, Jake (Sandra) Deeds, Allison Swan, Shawna Hampshire, Shane (Christine) Hampshire, and Amy (Josh) Stoneking; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and umpteen cousins.

A gathering for family and friends will be scheduled later this summer.
