Leslie L. CLAY 1930 – 1977 SHS 1950

DOUGLAS -- Services for Leslie L. Clay, 46, of 1341 Derrlngton, will be beld at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Harry Randall HI will officiate with burial in the Douglas Park Cemetery.

Clay died Saturday, April 2, at Natrona County Memorial Hospital from an apparent heart attack.

He was born Dec. 31, 1930, at Douglas. While attending schools at Sheridan, he spent many summers working for the OW Ranch of the Kendrick Cattle Co. A year after graduation, he enlisted in the Navy serving "with distinction" for four years in the Philippines.

He was a heavy equipment mechanic and had traveled statewide. At the time of his death, he was employed as a diesel mechanic at the Shirley Basin Mine.

On Nov, 11, 1959, he married Lauretta Juen at Casper.

He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local No. 400 and had served as a business agent for several years.

Besides the widow, Lauretta, of the family home, he is survived by two sons, Scott J. and John Leslie, both of Laramie; two stepdaughters, Laura and Rhea Zavada, and two stepsons, Eric and Ivan, all of Casper. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Mae Clay Manning of Douglas; one brother, Davey L. Clay of Laramie and his grandmother, Mrs. J.L. Clay of Springfield, Mo.

The Stark-Lapham Funeal Home of Douglas is in charge of arrangements with local arrangements by Memorial Chapel.
