OBITUARIES - MILES CITY STAR - April 28, 2003

Jackie Brown, 70, of Miles City died Friday, April 25, 2003, in the Holy Rosary Extended Care Facility after a battle with cancer.

Born in Sheridan, Wyo., on Sept. 21, 1932, she was the daughter of John and Mabel Macey Austin.  She attended schools and graduated from high school in Sheridan in 1950.

In 1951, she and Wayne Morford were married.

She and Bill Brown Jr. were married in 1978.  Mrs. Brown lived in Billings from 1993 to May 2002, when she moved to Miles City to live with her son and his family.

Mrs. Brown enjoyed golf, cards, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was quick to brag about them with her friends.  Mrs. Brown treasured her time spent with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.

Her survivors include her son, John Morford, his wife, Rita, of Miles City, and their children, Chris and Kelly Morford; her daughter, Kathi Ferguson of Billings and her children, Dustin and Brittany Ferguson and Jason Hill; and a brother, Roger Austin, and his wife, Laree, of Cheyenne, Wyo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City.  Interment will be at a later date in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery in Sheridan, Wyo.

Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
