BANNER - Banner resident Harry A. Williams 70, died Dec. 28, 2001, at his home, surrounded by his wife and sons; after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Feb. 20, 1931, the son of Hazel and William Williams. He was proud to have lived his entire life on the family ranch.

On Aug. 26, 1956, he married Leonne Avis Donner, surrounded by Eagle Scouts from his Boy Scout troop.

Mainly a dairy farmer and florist, he dedicated his life to his family, the enrichment of youth, the Banner community and his church.

He was involved in many organizations, including the First Congregational Church, BSA, 4-H, Jaycees, Elks Lodge No. 520, Dairy Council, Sheridan High School Class of 1949 and Big Horn Mountain Region Antique Automobile Club of America.

Later in life, he enjoyed his involvement with church youth groups and Camp Mimanagish, a youth and adult camp for the Ministry of Montana/Northern Wyoming Conference of the United Church of Christ.

His hobbies included painting, woodworking, gardening, writing short stories and poems, and "raising kids."

Survivors include his wife of 45 years of Banner; three sons and their wives, Joey of Banner, Louey of Sheridan and Buddy of Greeley, Colo.; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; three sisters, Nellie Jane Newcomer of Sheridan, Lois Marie Buesgens of Greensboro, Md., and Dorisanne Bohleen of Livingston, Mont.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard S. "Bud" Williams.

Memorials may be made to First Congregational Church, Camp Mimanagish or the Banner Community Club.
