She graduated from Sheridan, Wyo., High School in 1949 and from the University of Nebraska in 1953 with a bachelor's degree from the Teachers' College.

Carly met Glen R. Viehmeyer on a blind date while at the University and they were married Aug. 23, 1952.

Carly, a mainstay as the secretary of Burlington High School for almost 30 years, was very involved in the community.

As a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the church bell choir, P.E.O, bridge club, and a Rotary International District Governor's wife, she was always on the go.

She loved to travel and drove thousands of miles around the country, first with Glen and then with Leno.

Carly loved spending time with family and friends, both new and old.

Carly was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, her companion, Leno, and her granddaughter, Janna Viehmeyer.

She is survived by her daughters Kelly Spain (Lynn) of Huffman, Texas, and Susan Doak (Paul) of Arvada and her son, Curt Viehmeyer (Debbie Alman) of Fort Collins, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
