Walter Lee Olson, 78, of Casper, WY passed away March 19, 2009 at home with his family by his side following an extended illness.

Walt was born December 13, 1930 to Guy and Eva Olson in Sheridan, WY. Walt attended grade school in Banner, WY and high school in Sheridan.

He then enlisted in the USMC and after becoming a Sergeant, was honorably discharged in 1959.

Walt then attended the University of Wyoming where he earned his BS in Geology.

He then moved to Casper to work for Kerr-McGee where he me the love of his life Agnes “Aggie” Lipp. They were married on January 5, 1974 for 35 wonderful years.

Walt was highly regarded for his praying spirit, kindness, generosity, moral leadership, and dedication to God and family. In addition to being a loving husband, devoted brother, and servant of God, Walt was a loving father and grandfather, whose spirit and support will be greatly missed by each and every one of his family.

Survivors include his wife, Aggie, one daughter, Vickie Weber of Casper, grandson, Matthew Weber and wife Cecila, and granddaughter, Stephanie Weber, also of Casper, brothers, Alvin Olson and wife Shirley of Casper, and Roy “Bud” Olson and his wife Viola of Sheridan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Irene Wilson and Florence Olson.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Bustard’s Funeral Home, 600 CY Avenue, Casper, WY.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Casper Open Bible Church, 2955 East 2 nd Street, Casper, WY, with Assistant Pastor Dorothy Kleine officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery.
