Dale Weston MAXWELL 1930 -1999 SHS 1949

EVERETT. Wash. - Memorial services for Sheridan native Dale Weston Maxwell. 68. were held March 28. 1999, in Everett.

A memorial service will be held in June in Sheridan. Cremation has taken place and the ashes will Ix scattered near the Tongue River. He died March 19. 1999, at the Everett Sun Rise Care Center.

He was born April 25. 1930, to James Alfred and Blanche Roe Maxwell in Sheridan.

He married Joyce M. Myers in 1919 and they had two children. They later divorced.

He was a National Guard veteran of the Korean War and later joined the Naval Submarine Corps, serving until 1958.

He worked in various occupations, including the grocery business and as a fireman, a rural postal carrier and a lecturer. He also worked with fetal alcohol syndrome children and as a cancer researcher.

Some of his research has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine and the American Medical Journal, as well as other publications.

He will be remembered for his good-natured disposition and willingness to help others. He was very proud of his children! and grandchildren.

Survivors include daughters. Jenny Lynn Kaser and her husband of Rawlins and Barbara Angleton and her husband of Chanute, Kan.; his son, John Robert Dierks and his wife of Arlington, Neb.; three brothers, Irl Maxwell of Casper, Linn Maxwell of Dayton and LeRoy Maxwell of California; an aunt of Sheridan; four grandchildren; and his close friend and companion, Wanda Nelson of Everett, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved aunt.
