Jean L. Lonabaugh, 80, of Sheridan passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan.

Jean was born on April 16, 1931 in Sheridan, WY to Paul and Wilma Kulscar) Matringa.

Jean attended Sheridan Schools and graduated from Sheridan High.

After high school she attended Valparaiso University in Indiana, then attended Montana State University at Bozeman. After college she came home to Sheridan and worked for the Chamber, MDU and the First National Bank.

After her first marriage to Lonnie Nelson ended, she married E.E. "Gene" Lonabaugh in 1967. She enjoyed playing cards, and spending winters in Southern California and time with family and friends.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, a son, David E. Nelson and brother, Paul Matringa.

She is survived by her husband, sons Stephen P. Nelson and Jason A. Lonabaugh both of Sheridan.

Cremation has taken place, and services are pending at this time.

Memorials to honor Jean may be made to the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter at 84 East Ridge Road, Sheridan, WY 82801.
