Harry “Archie” MACCARTY 1931 -1992 SHS 1949

BIG HORN - Services for Harry "Archie" MacCarty, 61, will be conducted-at 1 1 a.m. Wednesday at the Champion Funeral Home.

Mr. MacCarty died Oct. 16, 1992, at his home in Big Horn.

He was born March 8, 1931, at Sheridan, the son of Joe and Florence (Stout) MacCarty.

On Dec. 6, 1991, he married Peggy Mankin Greenough at Scottsdale, Ariz.

A well-known outfitter, Mr. MacCarty was especially noted for his sheep-hunting ability. He operated several guest ranches, ranched and was an outfitter and guide at the Flying H Ranch for the past seven years.

A member of the Elks Lodge No. 520, Mr. MacCarty was a member of the Wyoming Outfitters Association, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the First Congregational Church.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, riding snow machines and 4-wheelers, ice fishing and wildlife conservation.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Molly MacCarty of Sheridan and Wendy M. Dahlin of Greybull; three sons, Martin MacCarty of Big Horn, Greg MacCarty of Pryor, Mont., and Brian MacCarty of Sheridan; a stepdaughter; Kelly Greenough of Scottsdale; and two stepsons, Greg Greenough of Gillette and Vince Greenough of Sheridan. Also surviving are his parents of Story, a sister, Joan Clift of Story; and nine grandchildren.

Memorials to either the American Cancer Society, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice may be made in care of First Interstate Bank, Sheridan, 82801.

The Champion Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
