SHERIDAN - Memorial services for Robert Flockhart, 72, will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 16, at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Stolcis officiating. Cremation has taken place.

He died Aug. 12, 2004, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

Born Aug. 23, 1931, in Acme, he was the son of Robert and Anna (Mentock) Flockhart.

On June 16, 1956, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan, he married Roberta "Bobbie" Surrena. He worked for Boyd's Supermarket for 40 years and then at Warehouse Market until his retirement in 1994. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in the Bighorn Mountains.

He also enjoyed gardening and telling stories of the family history, also recounting the escapades of his friends. Along with his wife, he chaperoned youth activities for high school students. He helped two boy scouts become Eagle Scouts.

Survivors include his wife; his nephews, Dennis Russell and his wife of Missoula, Mont., and Ed Russell of Gillette; his great-niece and great-nephew; and numerous cousins in the Sheridan area.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Roberta Russell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor can be made to Meals on Wheels, the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter, or a charity of choice in care of Karen Green, First Interstate Bank, P.O. Box 2007, Sheridan, WY 82801.
