Former Greybull, WY resident, Janet E. Stockhouse, age 83, passed away late Thursday evening, October 23, 2014 at the Valley Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Billings, Montana surrounded by her three children. Janet was surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren, and she touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Janet Corinne Edwards Stockhouse was born March 30, 1931 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Jeanette (Johnson) Edwards and Percy McKinley Edwards. Janet was raised in Sheridan, Wyoming and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1949.

Janet married Axel Stockhouse on October 18, 1956 in Laramie, Wyoming. She worked for Corthel and King Law Firm until Axel graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1959. They moved to Medicine Bow, Wyoming where she worked as the secretary for the superintendent of the Medicine Bow School District. The family moved to Greybull, Wyoming in 1963.

Janet worked for Avery Aviation owned by Morris Avery until the business was sold to Dan Hawkins and Gene Powers. She was the office manager at Hawkins and Powers for 34 years until she retired in 1996.

During her career, she was named "Woman of the Month" in 1975 for her outstanding efforts in the community.

Janet was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church at Basin and the Greybull Lions Club. She was also affiliated with the Masonic organizations including Jobs Daughters, Daughters of the Nile, and Order of Eastern Star.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Axel Stockhouse; and her brother, Gordon Edwards.

Janet is survived by her children, Rick Stockhouse of Billings, Montana, Cynthia Fisbeck (Larry) of Windsor, Colorado, and Cara Blank (Mike) of Cody, Wyoming; 8 grandchildren: Tracy Clubs, Heath Stockhouse, Kyle Fisbeck, Lisa Fisbeck, Kelly Blank, Nicole Blank, Chantel Schmidt, and Xanadu Schmidt; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Atwood Family Chapel in Greybull, Wyoming with The Reverend David Fox as officiant. A reception for family and friends will immediately follow the service at the Elks BPOE Lodge #1431 in Greybull.

Memorials in Janet's name will be received at Big Horn Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 471, Greybull, WY 82426-0471 with proceeds to benefit the Senior Citizens Center at 417 South 2nd Street in Greybull, Wyoming.
