Robert "Bob" Eddy DEMPLE 1930 - 2016 SHS 1949

Robert "Bob" Eddy Demple, 85, of Sheridan, WY passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2016 at his Brookdale cottage with his wife, Eleanor at his side.

He was born on March 22, 1930 in Sheridan to Mabel (Eddy) and George Francis Demple, Sr. Bob attended Holy Name School and graduated from Sheridan High School. He was active in sports especially high school football where he lettered. After high school, Bob attended the University of Wyoming and business college before moving to Casper, WY to work for Mountain Bell as a lineman. He met his future wife, Eleanor Schreiner while working there.

Bob and Eleanor were married in Pierz, MN and had three children before moving to Sheridan where he worked in property and ranch management. Later, he worked for School District 2 as a bus driver until his retirement.

He enjoyed taking trips with his wife, reading, gardening and investing in the stock market. Both he and Eleanor spent many hours volunteering at Holy Name Thrift Shop and doing various projects for the church.

Bob was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and past member of the Lion's Club and Knights of Columbus. His church was very special to him and his wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, George Francis (Bud) Demple, Jr., who was killed in France in WWII and a sister, Jeanne Clark (Jim Clark).

Bob is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Schreiner) Demple of 61 years; three daughters, Janice (Demple) Gosch, Patricia Demple and Lori Demple all of Sheridan; and a granddaughter, Heather (Gosch) McDill of Custer, SD. He will be missed by his friends, especially at Stifel Nicolaus and his family.

A visitation will take place at 5 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. on Monday, February 8, 2016, at Champion Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at Holy Name Church with Father Jim Heiser officiating. Burial will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
