Dolores Ann BONDI Rotellini 1930 - 2012 SHS 1949

Dolores Ann (Bondi) Rotellini passed away at Sheridan Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the age of 82.

Dolores was born on July 4, 1930 to John and Kitty Bondi on South Linden Street in Sheridan, Wyoming. She attended Holy Name School and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1949 and attended Sheridan College. She married Ernie Rotellini on Nov. 26, 1949 and was married for over 62 years.

In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, Mrs. Rotellini was employed as a secretary for attorney Alf Diefenderfer. Upon arrival of her children, she left to become a full time homemaker. After raising her children, Mrs. Rotellini was secretary for accountant Don Byrtus and later was the founding secretary for the Sheridan Recreation Department under Don Winkelmann and served for several directors afterward. Mrs. Rotellini then worked for Holy Name Church as a caregiver at the Holy Name Preschool and then was appointed as the church secretary and served several pastors until her retirement.

Dolores was very active in the community serving as a Girl Scout brownie troupe leader and served as an advisor and sponsor to the CC Sub Debs at Sheridan High School. She was a member of the Holy Name Church Council of Catholic Women and was a member of St. Patrick and St. Joseph alter circles. She volunteered several years as concession director for the Little Guy Football program. She was a longtime member of Akicta Win.

Dolores was an avid sports enthusiast; her favorite sports were college basketball, major league baseball and American Legion baseball. Ernie and Dolores could be found watching their children's and later, their grandchildren in their many sporting activities.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, grandparents, and sister Mary Kay Hudson.

She is survived by her husband, Ernie, sons John (Carrie) of Sheridan, Bill (Shanna) of Vancouver, Washington, and daughter Mary Beth Hanlin (Steve) of Ames, Iowa. She is also survived by her grandchildren, John Jr. Michael, and Katie Rotellini, Sean and Kevin Hanlin, Derek (Krista), Adrianne, Kristopher, Brady, Willie, Austin, Ty and Zac Rotellini and two great-grandchildren, Ami and Joselyn Rotellini.

A rosary for Mrs. Rotellini will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Kane Funeral home with a dessert reception to follow. Mass of a Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Holy Name Catholic Church. Burial will be at the Elk's section of the Sheridan County Cemetery with Father Jim Heiser officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the parish hall.
