Catherine Dockery Catherine Brooks Yonkee “Kay” Dockery, 77, of Parkman died May 28, 2008, at the family home.

A private gathering will be later to spread Mrs. Dockery’s ashes on the ranch. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dockery was born Sept. 3, 1930, to Adolph and Ruth (Brooks) Yonkee. She attended Slack School and Sheridan High School. After high school, she attended MacMurray College in Springfield, Ill., for two years. She returned to the family ranch after college.

She was Sheridan Rodeo Queen at the Bots Sots Stampede in 1950.

She married Aaron Leroy Dockery on Oct. 3, 1959. They managed the Yonkee Ranch for the rest of their lives.

She enjoyed being with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed the outdoors, working in her garden, riding her horse, working on the ranch, playing cards, and listening to music by George Strait.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2005.

Survivors include a son, Aaron of Sheridan; four daughters Lillian Durham of Safford,Ariz., Alma Kersh of Cheyenne, Nancy Johnston of Dayton, and Annie Butler of Parkman; a sister, Ada Lou Yonkee of Sheridan; 13 grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Big Horns, 1401 W. Fifth St., Sheridan, WY 82801.
