Stanley David VOOGD 1929 - 1998 SHS 1948

SHERIDAN - Funeral Liturgy for Stanley D. Voogd. 68, will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church with the Very Rev Eugene Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Vigil for the Deceased will be Sunday at 7 p.m. at Champion Funeral Home.

Mr. Voogd died Jan. 28, 1998. at the Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

He was born Sept. 1, 1929. in Sheridan, the son of Homer E. and Jessie May (Rose) Voogd. He was a graduate of Sheridan High School and attended the University of Wyoming.

He married Lucia "Lucy" Mediate in Sheridan on Feb. 23. 1957.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict

He was a customer service representative for Western Airlines and Delta Airlines for 35 years. He loved his family and his greatest enjoyment was spending time with them. He loved aviation, enjoyed watching boxing on television, attended Sheridan High School and University of Wyoming football and basketball games, fly fishing, playing golf and spending time at the YMCA.

He was a member of Sheridan Elks Lodge No. 520 and Holy Name Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death his parents, his mother-in law and his sister-in-law.

Survivors include his wife of Sheridan; his son, Brian Voogd of San Diego; two daughters. Anita Barnes of Golden, Colo., and Cara Schroeder of Lakewood, Colo.; two brothers. Clarence "Earl" Voogd and Homer E. Voogd Jr. both of Sheridan; and two grandchildren.
