Frank Dale SICKEL 1929 - 2012 SHS 1948

Longtime Sheridan resident Frank 'Dale' Sickel, 83, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 29, 2012 with loved ones by his side.

Dale was born in Sheridan to his parents Frank and Lenora Sickel on July 24, 1929. He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1948 and was a member of the 1946 State Championship football team.

He was employed in several occupations and served his community in a variety of capacities during his life. Dale was employed as an insurance adjuster for General Adjustment Bureau, as a radio announcer/Sports Director for KWYO and was the first Administrator for Heritage Towers.

He served as Chairman of the Sheridan County School District #2 Board of Directors, was a City Councilman for Ward 3 from 1985-1991, was active as a deacon, elder and board member for First Christian Church and was proud of his lifetime membership in Elks Lodge #520.

He enjoyed watching sports and loved spending time with his family at their cabin in the Bighorn mountains where he shared his passion for the outdoors.

Dale is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gloria Sickel, sons Kevin Sickel, Ken (Diana) Sickel, grandchildren Erik, Christopher and Kara Sickel.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Byron, Harold and Lawrence Hobein.

A private tribute, celebration of life and inurnment ceremony will be held at a later date at First Christian Church.
