;

Jacqueline Lois Spainhower, 81, a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Daughter passed away in the arms of her children at Sheridan Memorial Hospital on June 13th, 2011.

Born April 19th, 1930 to Albert and Flossie Nejedly, Jackie was a lifetime member of The First Christian Church and a member of Daughters of the Nile. She graduated from Sheridan High School with the class of 1948 and enjoyed the monthly class reunion luncheons.

Married June 6, 1948 to Frank Jr. Spainhower, they raised 5 “beautiful” children on a lovely home south of Sheridan. They divorced in 1965.

She worked for Carl's Grocery for many years, followed by Big Horn Coal. After the mine, she enjoyed working with the Renew clients and crew. Upon retiring at 60 she became a Senior Companion, caregiver coach, and volunteer. For 21 years she devoted herself to taking care of "those old people", many of whom were younger than her. She was also proud to be part of The Green House Project planning and fund raiser. She received many rewards for her outstanding volunteer work.

She loved to garden and watch her children, 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren live and grow in life. In her spare time she delighted in the watching the wildlife that were regular visitors to her 2 1/2 acre yard, including but not limited to deer, pheasants, raccoons, a great variety of birds and an occasional skunk.

Jackie is survived by her children, Jim and Pat Spainhower of Gillette, Janie Magnuson of Oregon, Jeanine and Larry Martini and Jerry Spainhower of Sheridan, Sisters, Peggy Buell of Buffalo, Eunice McEwan of New Hope, MN.

She was preceded in death by her son John Charles Spainhower, brother Joe (Sonny) and parents Albert and Flossie Nejedly.
