Catherine “Kate” Louise (McClusky) of Sheridan passed away May 6, 2011 at her residence at the age of 81 surrounded by her family.

She was born in Crosby, WY, to John and Nora (Scullen) McClusky on September 5, 1929. She married Bill ­­Demchok at Holy Name Catholic Church February 19, 1951.

Kate attended grade school in Buffalo, WY and the family moved to Sheridan when Kate was in high school. Kate was a member of the Sheridan High School graduating class of 1948. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and the St. Patrick’s Altar and Rosary Group.

Kate owned Sheridan Stationery from 1988 to 1993. She loved to read, travel, sew, play cards, watch movies and be with her children, grandchildren, and family.

Kate was preceded in death by her husband, sister Janet Gleason, brother Tom McClusky and nephew John Gleason.

She is survived by her children, Mike (Violet) Demchok, Mary (Doug) Emme, Tim (Donna Jo) Demchok, all of Sheridan and Pat (Mary) Demchok, Fort Collins, CO, and Margaret (Scott) Bader, Rapid City, SD; seven grandchildren Erin and Tyler Emme, Molly Arnott and David Demchok, Tommy, Joey and Jon Bader; two great granddaughters; nephew Tommy (Marge) Gleason, Grand Junction, Co and 21 other nieces and nephews.

There will be a Rosary Tuesday, May 10 at 7 pm with Deacon Joe Kristofek officiating at Kane Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Wednesday, May 11 at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father James Heiser officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk’s Cemetery. A reception will follow burial at in the parish hall at Holy Name Church.
