SHERIDAN - Services for Sheridan resident Charles Paul McCalla, 71, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kane Funeral Home, with Pastor Doug Goodwin officiating.  Cremation has take place and interment of cremains will be at a later date.

He died Aug. 21, 2001, at Sheridan Veterans Administration Hospital.

He was born Feb. 28, 1930, in Moorcroft, the son of Charles and Dollie (Claar) McCalla.  He moved to Sheridan in 1940 and completed high school.  He then served in the Navy.

On May 11, 1957, he married Rosalee Welch in Sheridan.

He worked at Kiewit Mines until his retirement and enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing, family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Mike McCalla of Sheridan; a daughter, Kelley Bonnet of Sheridan; five grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Hall and Charolette Hillstead, both of Sheridan, and Evelyn Kimbrell of Denver; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife.
