Audre Rae Beckenhauer 79, Lincoln, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 16, 2009.

Born on December 9, 1929 in Sheridan, Wyo. to Max & Dixie (Eversole) Lowe.

Audre was married for 39 years to the late Dr. William Beckenhauer in Sheridan, Wyo.; she was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church.

Attended the Colorado Women's College in Denver, earned her Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry at the University of Wyoming, and was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority there. Audre earned her Master's Degree from UNL in History, and taught for many years with LPS.

She was a medical technologist with the Fort Collins, Colorado Hospital, the Student Health Center at UNL, and the Community Blood Bank.

A Past Matron of the Eastern Star, a Past Queen & Past Grand Representative for the Daughters of the Nile, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Audre was a world traveler; golfing and bowling were among the many activities that Audre enjoyed.

Survivors: sons & daughter-in-law, Joel Beckenhauer, Lincoln; Kurt & Maria Beckenhauer, Washington, D.C.; daughter, Barbara Beckenhauer, Lincoln; grandchildren, Irene & Samuel Beckenhauer; brother & sister-in-law, Burt & Eunice Lowe.

Preceded in death by: husband, Dr. William Beckenhauer; parents.

Funeral Services: 12 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2009, at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 2325 South 24th Street, with Father Craig Gavin officiating. Visitation: 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009, with the family greeting friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., all at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.
