Robert W. LEWIS 1926 - 1991 SHS 1948

CASPER - Services for Robert W. Lewis, 65, will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Bustard Funeral Home by Al Allen of the Paradise Valley Christian Church.

Mr. Lewis died Aug. 30, 1991, at his home following a long illness.

He was born July 31, 1926, in Sheridan to Harry W. and Pauline (Clardy) Lewis. He grew up in Sheridan. In 1944 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until 1946 when he was discharged and returned to Sheridan. He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1948.

On June 30, 1951, he married Marilyn R. Ackerley in Story, Wyo. They lived in Lynch for six years where he was employed by the Continental Oil Company. The couple then moved to Casper where he worked as a field supervisor for the Greive Unit at Forest Oil. He retired from the Forest Oil Company in 1987.

He was active in high school rodeo, was a 4-H leader, and was involved with the State Chariot Racing and Horse Racing. He was also a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife of Casper; four children, Diana Rambo, Jan Lewis, Robert W. Lewis, Jr., all of Casper, and Debbie Eversole of Bitter Creek, Wyo.; two brothers, Ralph H. Lewis of Lake-port, Calif., and John J. Lewis of Meeteetse; four sisters, Jenny Moyer, Betty Conner, Joe Smith and Janie Durkee, all of Sheridan; and six grandchildren.

Either flowers or memorials to the Central Wyoming Cancer Treatment Center and Hospice would be equally appreciated by the family.

Memorials may be left with the Bustard Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oregon Trail State Veteran's Cemetery in Evansville.
