Alma Marie Morse passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Sheridan Manor with her family and friends at her side.

Marie was born September 27, 1930 to Uretta and Drew Jackson in Basin, Montana. Marie attended grammar schools in Bozeman, Montana, Sheridan, Wyoming and Hooker, Oklahoma. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1948. She then attended and received a degree in business from Humans Commercial College in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Marie married Harry O. Morse on June 7, 1952 in Sheridan, Wyoming. They made their home in Midwest, Wyoming. During that time they raised their children, the 4 D’s. Marie was involved in 4-H, Scouts, the rodeo club, Little League Women’s softball and was an avid bowler. Marie spent the winters with her family snowmobiling in the Big Horns and summers at Black Rock Ranger Station in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

While in Midwest, she was employed with Stanolind Oil and Gas, Naval Petroleum Resources, Amoco Oil Production, Longnecker Repair and Ray’s Oilfield Service.

In 1975, Harry and Marie relocated to Gillette, Wyoming. Marie worked for Dunbar Well Service for 10 years. She retired while working for Key Energy.

Marie continued her love of bowling, enjoyed photography, writing poetry, volunteering for Hospice, caring for her horses and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a lifelong dream come true with a pack trip into the wilderness of the Tetons with her son, David and her brother, Bill. Inspired by this trip, Marie wrote an article titled “Granny’s Pack Trip” and was honored with its publishing in the magazine, Wyoming Wildlife. Marie held the highest regard for all Wyoming wildlife. She helped found and was an avid supporter of her daughter’s non-profit raptor rehabilitation center, N.E.W. Bird Rescue and Rehab. She also enjoyed trips with her sister to Alaska and the Caribbean.

Marie is survived by her four children: Denise Nannemann (Lyle), Diane Morse (Doug Lambert) all of Gillette, Wyoming, Danny Morse (Ronda), of Midwest, Wyoming and David Morse (Sue) of Kaycee, Wyoming; her brother, Drew Jackson (Karen) of Laurel, Montana; sister, Paula Corley (Jon) of Gardnerville, Nevada. Marie was also blessed with seven grandchildren and six great-grand children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry O. Morse.
